Leading Change

Our approach to embedding sustained and long-term change places teachers at the centre. Leadership sets the conditions for this change and provides ongoing support.

Leading Change

High performing teachers, enabled by strong leadership

Effective leadership sets the conditions for teachers to be placed at the centre of all learning by encouraging this change and providing ongoing support.

Leaders work with their teachers to define the mission at the  school level, for collective efficacy and consistency in classroom practice.

Teachers are empowered to adopt and apply practice changes in the classroom with comprehensive resources, continuous professional development, collaboration and feedback.

Inspiring Progresss

Inspiring progress towards educational change

Managing change is much more than simply communicating what is changing – teachers must be supported through this pedagogical transition and understand what is needed to embrace and sustain High Impact Teaching Practice (HITP).

Catalyst equips principals, leadership teams and teachers with the knowledge and skills to employ evidence-based pedagogical practices in their schools and classrooms using the ADKAR framework.

Create awareness of the impact of HITP on student outcomes

Help teachers understand why your school is implementing pedagogical and curriculum change. Share the outcomes of HITP on student performance and wellbeing and the resulting professional satisfaction  teachers will have in their classrooms to motivate their engagement.

Drive desire to participate in and effect practice change through Catalyst

Encourage collaboration from teachers in HITP to create a shared vision that fosters a strong belief in the practice and outcomes. Share practice and observations from early adopters.

Build teacher knowledge

CECG has developed extensive resources through Catalyst to help address knowledge gaps and to support teachers and leaders in understanding the methodology behind the teaching and learning approach.

Develop teacher ability

All teachers are equipped as explicit, high impact teachers who implement HITP in all lessons. School leaders have the knowledge, skills and resources to drive HITP at a school level and make instructional decisions based on data.

Reinforce HITP for fidelity of practice

Create the conditions for continuous improvement through observation, feedback and continuous communication. Teachers build fidelity over time and by implementing more precise practice, more often, in more lessons.

“When we were first informed about the Catalyst Program, as a school we were very transparent with our staff on the journey that we were about to undertake.

Our staff were very impressed with just how many resources that CECG were investing in. It was quite clear to our staff that this was evidence-based practice and quality teaching and learning. “

Sarah Lowe
Principal at St Mary’s Primary School – Crookwell

“The staff at St Mary’s are really enjoying our Catalyst journey. We’ve found that it has reduced teacher workload. Teachers are spending less time planning, and they know that the lessons they are delivering, are meeting the students where they’re at.”

    RESOURCES

Equipping Leaders and teachers with the tools to succeed

Catalyst builds on our teachers and Leaders professional knowledge and expertise to align to our focus on evidence-based, high-quality pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment.

To support them in doing so, we have designed and developed online professional development materials and low variance curriculum resources to allow them more time to focus on positively impacting students’ lives through increased learning opportunities.
